Axel Meyer

Came across this interesting video of the designer of the N97 answering questions from bloggers. He tries to explain some basic design principles of the Nokia 97 and answers question about the QWERTY and other aspects of the phone.

"transformation of real world into digital space"... that was quite a revelation. never thought of personal gadgets in that way. its really amazing how much research goes into ergonomics and designing even small things like button force feedback which we don't notice during use. I think that's the beauty of it, the best ergonomic design lets the gadget feel so natural, that the user doesn't even notice that it has been designed by somebody.

@ravish yeah, we really sometimes don't appreciate the effort that has been put in design. with the attention to detail that this video indicates, i am sure it's gonna be a great phone.

Nokia has some really smart set of people thinking of these innovative gadgets and understanding the customer requirements. Life has changed so much with mobile phones.
