All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy !!
But you are not jack ? Right. What’s the fun in buying the coolest gadget on the planet without any games to play around. A high resolution 640x480 resolution, 128 MB RAM and MEPG 4 support ensure that the Nokia N97 gives you the most awesome mobile gaming experience. Be it the strategies of Tetris 3D or the fun of twists and turns of racing in Asphalt 4: Elite Racing, the N-Gage platform available on all N-Series phones is sure to blow your mind away with new 3D graphic acceleration, multi-player mode and even online arenas to compete with other players. The new games like Resident Evil and World Series poker challenge are already a rage among mobile gaming enthusiast. The Nokia N97 comes with the largest touch screen till date in the N-Series. Some of the other new features like A-GPS, QWERTY keyboard and MPEG-4 support open a new world of opportunity for N-Series game designers and players as well. Nokia games, Vice President Jaakko Kaidesoja believes the future of gaming is towards touch screen games and we couldn’t agree more. It’s probably time to toss out your Nintendo DS or Sony PSP. Finally, you have one device that does it all and does it all with speed and style.
So let the games begin!!
Check out preview of some of the upcoming games on the N-Gage platform.

the gaming excites me...and if im not wrong...u can actually play the racing games by using the mobile as a steering wheel
oh yeah one more thing...i heard of this software tht allows u to link an N series phone to the computer and then control games like NFS by using the mobile as a steering wheel......
so when you tilt the mobile forward....u see the car accelrating on the screen, now tht is NEAT
The Nokia N97 is loaded with sensors and the Symbian S60 5th Edition is all geared to utilize them to their full potential. A lot of new games will be utilizing the in built accelerometer. Game designers might get innovative and start using the A-GPS, Electronic compass and cameras as well. With phones like these, its only ones imagination that limits!
As it sounds, the phone seems to be even capable of replacing the joystick. I can challenge anybody anywhere.
Hurrah ......... Game On
5800 has ok reflexes when u talk of the game Mr Aditya is referring to...iphone's simple games too can emerge one too much into all the fun.one of my friends is addicted to playing bricks on the iphone1
can somebody enlighten me on the differences in 5800 and n97(apart from querty, size etc) software capabilities etc
can somebody enlighten me about the differences in the 5800 and n97?i mea besides the price and hardware etuff...what about the s/w?and the ngauge features?
@ Kumar - The 5800 has a smaller screen than the N97. Which means that atleast in the idle mode, you dont have the screen perspective changing on tilting of the phone.
As far as hardware is concerned, the N97 has a faster processor. (Info through internet, no Nokia communication) Also N97 directly supports the N-Gage engine, so expect some cool stuff ;)
this is the only phone i expect the GTA iv to be released.
It wil be so amazing to roam about Liberty city on my new N97.
Too much optimism i reckon !
Cheers
what is GTA iv? can anyone elaborate please?
I am looking for a day when the PSP goes redundant!!!
Gaming should actually get portable... what i wonder is, would the battery be able to sustain!?
@Sunaina J.
GTA IV is the notorious game meant for Mature Audiences... One of its iterations is based outta "Vice City"
:P
U play a gangstaa who does all the crazy stuff
GTA = Grand Theft Auto
Its one game which lets u live ur alterego :P
More than the accelerometer and the touch screens, it is time for Nokia to come up with a breakthrough game, not many all time famous games from Nokia other than Snake. I vil like to see a really good cricket game
want a game like 'second life' on my nokia phone!
i'll perpetually get hooked to n97 if they put such a game up!so-lo in the virtual world!
Having used N-Gage extensively, N-97 is surely going to be a treat to all the mobile game lovers with its large touchscreen, games like AOE on N-97 would finally become fun to play :)
does it support high graphics games as well???
recently,,
in an interview with india games..
Ceril perry was quoted saying the indian gaming market is growing at 150% annually.. n that game cos. are targetting cell cos for tie-ups.. any help 4m nokia.. n97 is a perfect ambassador for such revenue generating mechanisms i'd believe..
does it have a metal body or plastic , cozif its plastic then I would be skeptical to buy it .. ( looks horrible on 5800 , hoping its aint the same with 97 ) makes gaming a chore.. n loses the sightfulness with continuous ruggedness..
Phones like the Nokia N97 are made of the choicest materials. Metal tends to have a lot of weight and some metal finishes on plastic tend to get a lot of scratches over time. Trust Nokia to use the best in its flagship product.
It would be great if some of the basic games like Snake, Solitaire etc also get some great effects in the N-Gage platform
gamers of the world unite with their N97 phones!solo+games can be a bomb combination!track where ur friends who play the same game are?great idea?:)
already this phone boasts quite an impressive array of games. but i would want to see some more innovative games based on the technologies unique to this phone. especially, based on so-lo, there can be games based on social networking. imagine playing the good old hide n seek with so-lo enabled.
though not a big gaming fan myself, I do occassionally play them. all the mobile games are getting more and more complicated by the day. i hope they include some of the simple games, especially the hallmark of earlier nokia phones, the snake. there's a lot that can be done to make that game more exciting, given the technological capabilities of this phone.
Can I hide the games somehow. If my 12 year old son finds this out, it would be tough for me to get the phone out of his hands.
