Talking about ringtones... the N97 supports video ringtones. So you can have a video or a unique track associated with each each contact. You can see your loved one light up your screen when they call! And did you know that when you get an incoming call on your N97 and you want to silence the tone, you can just turn the phone. Little treasures that show how well Nokia has thought out the N97.

Seems to be an all in one phone. But I have an observation - Sony never puts all its features together in a single phone. The logic is that it may kill other categories. So how come N97 manages it...

I wonder, how does Nokia ensure the ringtone is not silenced by mistake, while in my handbag or in my pocket?
Also, how's the performance on the video front. I know, the earlier versions played the video only 20 seconds into the call ringing.
"Everything" comes at a higher price point because of high development costs.
Really cool yet simple application of accelerators.. I hope they have many such unique ergonomics that its just fun using the phone...
"you can see your loved one light up your screen", well put dude. but i hope they have automatic compression for pictures that are assigned with a caller. it's a problem in other phones with similar feature. if you assign a high resolution image to a person who is calling, the image takes long to load, and you cannot even see who's calling for the first few seconds.
the previoud phone i used had the problem of the screen going blank, if i used a high reolution video for the ring tone.
hope nokia has sorted out this problem?

The video ringtone sounds I mean looks I mean feels like a great idea,but have they tought about delaying picking up the phone as the receiver is too busy watching the video. :P
Well the reciever might get too busy watching the video that he might miss the call itself.

I can literally see HER shout out my name when I don't take the call FOR SOMETIME...
N97 is only getting better with a full screen display of picture or "thumbnails" for the contacts as they call it.
Compression... it won't need it.. it's already for a 5 MPx camera .. and a similar resolution to support it... so why worry!!
put thumbnails to all your contact.. even the pados wala dukaandaar!!! ;)
